Portland Maine based and family owned Shipyard Brewing is the Official Beer Partner for the 2018 Atlantic Cup and we couldn't be happier to be showcasing the many different beers they offer. The Atlantic Cup Preview Evening Presented by Sea Bags Maine is your chance to hear about the experiences of many of America's greatest offshore sailors and the stories they have from their time on the water. Get the inside track on the race and what you can expect to see when the Atlantic Cup comes to Portland in June! Guest speakers include: Ken Read: America's Cup veteran, two time Volvo Ocean Race Skipper and North Sails President Joe Harris: 2014 Atlantic Cup Champion and solo circumnavigator of the globe Rob Windsor: One of only two people to have raced every edition of the Atlantic Cup Hugh Piggin: Atlantic Cup Co-Founder and Race Director. The 2016 finish of Leg two from Brooklyn, New York to Portland, Maine was the closest finish in Atlantic Cup history. Spanish duo and eventual 2016 Atlantic Cup Champions Tales II won the leg, but the action didn't stop then! French entry and returning Atlantic Cup competitor Eärendil crossed the line three hours later, but hot on their tail was Talanta, Toothface and Oakcliff. In the final mile Toothface took third place from Talanta and crossed the line with an elapsed time of 54h:29m:47s. Talanta crossed 5 seconds later with Oakcliff a further 19 second behind! After 360 nautical miles of racing, we thought that was amazing! Look back at the race here:
