Teams Arrive in Portland

Where & When: Fort Allen Park / Maine Wharf , Monday June 6th*

Come down to watch the boats finish Leg 2 of The Atlantic Cup presented by 11th Hour Racing! The Sea Bags Atlantic Cup Finish Line will be located off of Fort Allen Park. After finishing, the boats will head over to Maine Wharf where they will be docked for the week until June 12th.

The boats are expected to arrive in from New York City on Monday June 6th*. Follow the boats as they near Portland on our Georacing Tracker and follow us on Twitter and Facebook for live updates and estimated arrival times!

*This date is an estimate– timing of arrival depends on the wind and other variable conditions the boats will encounter on their way up from New York City.

Atlantic Cup Kids Day

Where & When: Maine Wharf, Thursday June 9th, 9:30am-12:30pm

On June 9th, the Atlantic Cup will host kids from all over Portland for an up close look at the boats and a special meet and greet with the sailors. Our Kids Education Program gives students and teachers the opportunity to visit the boats, and hear the sailors stories from their time on the ocean. The Kids Program also helps children learn about the environmental challenges facing the ocean and how reducing, reusing, and recycling can make a huge difference.

Inshore Racing

Dock Out Ceremony: Maine Wharf, Fri 10th & Sat 11th, 11:30am

Inshore Racing: Race Village, Fort Allen Park, Fri 10th & Sat 11th,12-4pm

Cheer on your favorite teams as they race in the inshore series of the Atlantic Cup! The best place to watch the racing from land will be from the Atlantic Cup Race Village in Fort Allen Park. There will be live commentary on the racing action during the day.

Each morning at 11:30am there will be a Dock Out Ceremony held at Maine Wharf. There will also be live commentary and announcements as the boats leave the dock to head off to the race course.

Atlantic Cup Race Village

Where & When: Fort Allen Park, Fri June 10th and Sat June 11th, 10:30am-5:00pm

On June 10th and 11th head over the Fort Allen Park to explore the Atlantic Cup Race Village! The Race Village will feature live race commentary and will be the best place to watch the sailing from land. We’ll have live music, food truck, an interactive Kids Zone and many vendors including the Sea Bags Blue Crew mobile truck!

Friday will feature music from Downeast Soul Coalition and grub from Ziggy’s and Robyn’s Ice Cream. The Delta Nights band will perform at Saturday’s village and we’ll also be joined by food truck El Corazon. The Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer Garden will be open both days and will feature a draught truck with PBR, Magners and a craft brew.


Award Ceremony

Where & When: Maine Wharf, June 11th, 5:00pm

Come watch the award ceremony where the overall winner of the 2016 Atlantic Cup will be announced!
