Come down to One15 Marina to see the boats finish Leg 1 of the Atlantic Cup! The teams should be arriving from Charleston by May 31st but of course this is weather dependent! Stay tuned and follow the racing on the race tracker for up to date information!
The boats will be docked at One15 Marina until June 4th. Come check out the Class40 boats up close while they’re docked and getting ready for leg 2 of the race!
Living on the Edge: The Ocean Economy
Where & When: Thompson Reuters, Wed June 1st, 6pm
On Wednesday, June 1st the Atlantic Cup and 11th Hour Racing present Living on the Edge: The Ocean Economy, a celebration of the most sustainable sailing race in the United States. We are delighted to have New York Times award-winning investigative journalist Ian Urbina as our keynote speaker with opening remarks provided by Dr. Sandra Whitehouse from the Ocean Conservancy. The evening will be hosted by Thomson Reuters and with the Ocean Conservancy as the charitable beneficiary. If you are interested in attending you can purchase tickets here.
New York Pro-Am Regatta
Where & When: One15 Marina, Thurs June 2nd, 2pm
Invited race guests and sponsors will have a unique opportunity to race on board the Atlantic Cup boats as a crew member with a spectacular view of New York Harbor.
Atlantic Cup Brooklyn Kids Day
Where & When: One15 Marina, Fri June 2nd, 10am-2pm
On June 3rd, the Atlantic Cup presented by 11th Hour Racing will host kids from all over Brooklyn for an up close look at the boats and a special meet and greet with the sailors. Our Kids Education Program gives students and teachers the opportunity to visit the boats, and hear the sailors stories from their time on the ocean. The Kids Program also helps children learn about the environmental challenges facing the ocean and how reducing, reusing, and recycling can make a huge difference.
Leg 2 Brooklyn-Portland Race Start
Where & When: One15 Marina, Sat June 4th, 12pm
Come on down to Brooklyn Bridge Park to watch the restart. We’ll have live commentary and our race partners will be on hand with products, gear and more! The start line will be just off the seawall in Brooklyn. Come down to One 15 Marina to see the teams off as they head north towards Portland!
