#25 Flatline’s Situation And What It Means For The Race
Due to an unfortunate set of setbacks, #25 – Flatline skippered by Kyle Hubley and Frederic de Mesel, were unable to make the start in Charleston, SC, but will join the fleet in New York City. Flatline will be scored as DNS (did not start) and be given 0 points for the first leg.
#25 Flatline is due to rendezvous with the fleet in the vicinity of Cape Hatteras and accompany them to New York. Having missed the first leg of the race, Flatline will arrive in New York with 0 points, 4 points behind the next competitor. This means that Team Flatline has well and truly established themselves as the underdog, however Kyle and Frederic aren’t out of the race. With two thirds of the scoring left in the event there are plenty of points available for Flatline. Kyle has indicated he is very happy with the condition of the boat but the question remains if she will be able to perform alongside the other boats. With Flatline joining the fleet we should get some indication of this on her passage to New York.
Although you will be able to follow #25-Flatline’s progress on the tracker, as stated above they will not be scored for this leg of the race.
